Real CONCACAF Cup Championship Game

Wow what a great day for Real Salt Lake! They made it to the finals of the CONCACAF and we have tickets in the lower bowl thanks to Darin. It was one of the funnest game We've been to. The place was jamb packed and everyone was in red except for those cheering for Monterrey, and they were in blue and wearing sombreros. Paper and confetti was being thrown every where and at time the noise was deafening. Real went down and lost for the first time in 37 games at Rio Tinto. It was sad but at the time it was a great day for Real and the MLS. Go Real !!!!

We Have A Ghost!!!

Last night I heard a crash that sounded like it came from downstairs around 11:45pm. I went to investigate but I could not see or hear anything out of the ordinary, so I went back to bed. But to our surprise, when Summer woke up this morning her room looked like the pictures below. The top of her desk was cleaned off, the lamp broken, the drawers pulled out and stood on end, and the contents were scattered about. What I heard was not any thing like what this should have sounded like. We can not explain any of it. Do you have any ideas on what could have caused this????

Easter bread baking.

For some reason I've had this desire to bake artisan breads. I don't know where it came from but I just want to bake bread. So this Easter I'm baking traditional Easter breads. The first is from England, Hot Crossed buns. These are baked with spices and currents, topped with a little frosting cross. Can't wait to try them.

The second is a combination of a couple of Easter favorites. The bread is a Czech recipe with nuts and dried fruit. I've braid the dough in a ring shape and tucked in colored eggs like an Italian pane di pasqua.

So have a Happy Easter !!!!

3-D Target Shoot

Saturday my neighbor, Les Hinman, and I went to the Cache Valley Archers 3-D target shoot. This was the first time out with my new bow that I won at the Mule Deer Foundation Banquet, the Hoyt CRX 32 and the Flash Point HD sights. I love this new bow and especially the the sight. I can shoot targets out to 80 yards with just a simple turn of the wheel on the side of the sight. I've posted a few pictures hope you enjoy. I had a great time!!!

The new sight

First shot 72 yards dead center!!!

Costa Rica 2011

So we finally got around to going on our 25th anniversary trip, only a year and a half late. We choose to go to Costa Rica because we have friends that live down there. So we had a place to stay and a tour guide all in one. Can't beat that right? We had a great time. Spent two days on the Caribbean coast at the La Costa De Papito resort along the beach. We shopped at all the local stores and took a zip line adventure through the rain forest. Zip lining is a thrill when your 200 ft up in a tree. As you can see in our pictures we had fun and the food was great. Jamie didn't like how I made my lunch talk to her though. We also when to the top of the Poas Volcano. It is an active volcano just a few miles from San Jose. It last erupted in 2010. Its about 9000ft in elevation and the view was amazing from up there. We also visited the La Paz Waterfall Gardens. Some of the prettiest fall in the world. And of course we spent a full day at the Mercado Central shopping with the locals. I wish I had more time there to try more of the local foods. The fresh fruit was to die for. Hope you enjoy the photos.
